The Rug Company is seeking a part-time graphic designer to join its team in London.

About the role

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented graphic designer to join our team on a temporary, part-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-impact visual assets that enhance our brand’s identity across digital and print channels. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced, creative environment, shaping the visual direction of our luxury collections and campaigns. The role requires three full business days a week dedicated to The Rug Company (likely Tues-Thurs) with potential overtime.

You will collaborate closely with the marketing, creative, and e-commerce teams to ensure a cohesive and compelling brand presence across all touchpoints. The ideal candidate is a strong conceptual thinker, has a keen eye for aesthetics, and understands how to blend storytelling with design to create memorable brand experiences.

Key responsibilities:

  • brand and campaign creative develop graphic treatments and campaign visuals for seasonal launches, ensuring they align with the brand’s elevated aesthetic and storytelling
  • assist in the conceptualisation and execution of brand guidelines, maintaining consistency across all assets
  • provide support in visual merchandising concepts, bringing the brand’s presence to life in retail or showroom settings

Digital and web design:

  • design website graphics, homepage banners, email templates, and digital assets to support product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns
  • ensure all digital content adheres to UX/UI best practices, with a focus on high-end aesthetics and usability on mobile and desktop

Print and editorial design:

  • create high-quality printed collateral, including brochures, catalogues, in-store displays, and point-of-sale materials that support marketing and sales initiatives
  • design elegant and cohesive look books for each collection, highlighting craftsmanship, textures, and inspiration behind our rugs
    Work with external vendors to prepare press-ready files, ensuring accurate colour matching, print quality, and material selection

Events and special projects:

  • develop custom event invitations and VIP gifting materials, ensuring a refined, luxury presentation
  • design branded assets for in-person and digital activations, including signage, packaging, and presentation materials

Key skills and qualifications:

  • three plus years of experience as a graphic designer, preferably in luxury, fashion, interiors, or lifestyle industries
  • strong portfolio showcasing a mix of print, digital, and web design projects
  • proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and web design tools like Figma
  • experience with motion design or video editing (Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro) is a plus
  • strong knowledge of typography, layout, color theory, and visual storytelling
  • ability to multitask and work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • understanding of web design best practices and UX/UI principles
  • strong communication skills and ability to take constructive feedback while pushing creative boundaries
  • passion for design, luxury craftsmanship, and interiors
