Thomas Alexander is looking for an architect to join its team in London.
We are seeking to recruit a project architect with a minimum of five years’ post-RIBA Part 3 experience. Proficiency in Revit and Autocad is essential.
Thomas Alexander is a growing studio and successful applicants will have the opportunity to grow with the practice, working within a variety of markets including prime central London private residential projects and multi-unit residential developments.
Responsibilities include:
- preparation of tender and construction information including drawings, schedules and specifications
- full coordination of technical design information with third-party consultants, suppliers and sub-contractors
- coordinate with the main contractor and sub-contractors during the construction phase to resolve issues on-site
- reviewing and coordinating specialist sub-contractor packages
- working within the design programme to provide complete project management including acting as the lead consultant
- working collaboratively to support and manage the project team, allocating resources and tracking progress
- effectively manage client relationships
Skills and qualities:
- extensive technical knowledge and minimum of five years’ experience in RIBA Stage 4 onwards
- thorough understanding of UK building regulations
- a good understanding of structural design principles and M&E design principles
- experience in the principal designer role and acting contract administrator
- undertaking valuations, issuing contract certificates, creating and implementing H&S files, establishing risk registers and site reports, as well as O&M manuals
- experience in prime residential, and multi-unit new build developments is essential
- excellent communication and presentation skills
- proficiency in both Revit and Autocad
- proficiency in MS Office
- proficiency in Adobe InDesign
- knowledge of Photoshop and SketchUp is preferable but not essential
- self-motivated and able to work under pressured deadlines if/when called upon
- excellent time and people management skills, allowing you to successfully lead a team working on multiple projects at once
- excellent communication skills, across many different stakeholders such as clients, contractors and consultants
- immediately available to work in the UK
