Tom Stuart-Smith Studio has a vacancy for a landscape architect to join its team in Hertfordshire, UK.
We are looking for a landscape architect with a minimum of three years’ relevant experience to join its practice of 20 designers and support staff. The studio is based at Serge Hill, near St Albans, in a recently built contemporary studio immersed in a mix of established gardens around Tom’s home, The Barn and a new horticultural growing space, The Orchard.
You will be working on a variety of exciting public and private gardens, urban spaces, and historic landscapes in the UK and overseas. You will also be encouraged as part of your professional development to get involved in hands-on gardening: https://www.tomstuartsmith.co.uk/community
Essential skills and attributes:
- master’s in landscape architecture or diploma in garden design or equivalent professional experience working in a landscape design studio
- dedicated, organised, self-motivated and willing to work on a range of projects
- excellent communication and coordination skills, including the ability to sketch and develop designs on paper as well as digitally
- ability to work effectively both individually and within a team
- can work under pressure and to the highest standard for project deadlines
- strong skills in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite
- fluency in English language
- eligibility to work in the UK and Europe and possession of any relevant visas
