Freelance interior designer

Toogood is hiring a freelance interior designer to join its team in London.
Toogood provides bespoke interior design services for high-end commercial and residential projects as well as designing and manufacturing products across furniture, homeware and clothing.
We’re looking for a freelance mid-weight interior designer to support the team on a new project from June for two months. The ideal candidate should have worked in high-end interiors, possess excellent drawing and sourcing skills and be able to work quickly and collaboratively.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
- work and collaborate with the team on the conceptual and technical side of the design process, to deliver a unique and detailed interior concept to our clients
- participate in extensive research, sourcing material samples, furniture, antiques and art
- help to produce all drawings and specifications to a design intent level.
- help to develop detailed specifications
- check information and drawings produced by suppliers
- attend regular internal team meetings, providing updates and progress reports to the directors
Required skills:
- a degree or equivalent in interior design/interior architecture
- experience working on high-end commercial and residential projects
- experience in procuring for high-end budgets
- full proficiency using Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite and Google Suite
- a broad knowledge and understanding of materiality
- experience in FF&E with vast knowledge of suppliers, products and specialist finishes
- experience sourcing fabric samples, furniture, antiques and art
- proficient at putting together schedules
- experience liaising with architects, consultants, specialists and suppliers
- fluent in spoken and written English
The chosen candidate will be expected to work both remotely and at the studio, depending on the project stage. This is a part-time role, requiring around three days a week for the duration of the project.
