Part 2 architectural assistant
at Tuckey Design Studio
Tuckey Design Studio (formerly Jonathan Tuckey Design) is looking for a Part 2 architectural assistant (or equivalent) to join its West London office.
We are looking for experienced, proactive and ambitious designers who are passionate about working with existing buildings and who are interested in contributing to the future of the practice.
Tuckey Design Studio works on a variety of existing and new buildings and in a variety of mediums. Model making is integral to us as a practice and successful candidates will need to demonstrate a high proficiency in this area. Candidates will have recently completed their Part 2 or will have post-Part 2 experience while being willing to support a project architect.
We seek applicants with the following qualifications, qualities, and experience:
- one to two years of relevant experience in a similar role is preferable but not essential
- experience on technical drawings, specifications, and schedules
- knowledge in Vectorworks (2D and 3D) preferable but not essential
- experience using Adobe Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- excellent design and presentation skills, including hand drawing
- attention to detail
- initiative, resourcefulness, and proactivity in approach to daily tasks whilst working within the agreed procedures and given timing
- strong organisational skills
- a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- able to assist in following and maintaining the company’s quality management system
- happy to work as part of a team in an assisting position
- able to work well independently when required
- good communication skills
- additional languages welcome (currently we have fluent Italian, French, Portuguese, Pashto, Hindi-Urdu, and Farsi speakers in the studio)
