Useful Simple Trust is seeking a Part 2/Part 3 architect to join its team in London.

Location: London (office-based but remote working is available)

Salary: £40,000 to £47,000 per annum depending on experience including competitive benefits

Hours: full-time

Contract type: permanent

What we are looking for

We are looking for direct applications from outstanding Part 2 or qualified Architects to join our team, to work on a range of workplace, residential, education and public realm projects. We are keen to meet candidates who are purpose driven with an interest in low carbon, reuse, and the circular economy with excellent CAD and communication skills. Candidates with experience of running projects will be at an advantage.

Role and responsibilities:

  • day-to-day project lead under guidance of associates and/or directors
  • lead production of design and construction information including drawings, reports and specifications
  • guide the design team from inception through to project completion
  • ensure that all project deadlines are met and to the highest of standard
  • liaise with clients, contractors, and other professionals
  • work to a high standard both as part of a team but also use your own initiative when working alone

Requirements:

  • UK registered ARB qualification or experienced Part 2
  • minimum four years of UK working experience
  • relevant experience in medium size workplace, residential, education and public realm projects
  • a full understanding of the UK statutory framework, including Planning and Building Regulations
  • good knowledge of construction detailing and technical skills
  • excellent freehand sketching, visualisation and computer modelling skills
    Proficiency in Revit required
  • good communication skills to coordinate the work with clients, contractors and suppliers
  • personable, a team player, and generally a good all-rounder
  • high level of carbon literacy or willing to become certified
