Senior lecturer in interior design

The School of Arts at UWE Bristol is seeking to recruit a full-time senior lecturer to join its faculty in Bristol, UK.

A senior lecturer covers key responsibilities of programme leadership and development for UWE Bristol’s award-winning BA(Hons) Interior Design programme.

The programme is at an exciting point in its development sitting within the newly formed product and interiors cluster. The programme leader will help build on the current success of the programme and drive new developments with the other programmes within the wider design cluster and School of Arts.

As the programme leader you will have a visible leadership role to those involved in the interior design programme delivery and within the School of Arts, leading key activities that enhance the student experience and driving a strong performance against measures such as student recruitment, retention and achievement.

Working collaboratively, the role holder will lead and deliver activities that relate to the specific discipline area and the wider design subject, ensuring the continuous enhancement, development and innovation of the academic offer and student experience aligned to UWE strategic ambitions and meeting student and future market needs.

About you

You will be responsible for:

  • lead the day-to-day delivery and organisation of the BA(Hons) Interior Design programme, ensuring high academic standards and quality of learning experience
  • contribute to the strategic development of Interior Design programme
  • implement operational plans that deliver on our key performance indicators
  • using your expertise within the subject and working collaboratively with colleagues across the school/college/university
  • lead and deliver improvement, development and innovation activities in your area of responsibility

This post is based at our City Campus in Bristol city centre which comprises of Bower Ashton Studios, Arnolfini and Spike Island and is home to UWE Bristol’s creative and cultural subjects. Through a combination of university sites and partnerships with creative and cultural organisations in the city, we have developed a network of cultural and creative spaces. These enable our students and staff to develop their professional practice in inspiring learning environments as well as provide opportunities for creative collaboration and networking.
