Vincenzo De Cotiis Architects and Gallery is seeking a junior marketing and communications manager to join its team in Milan, Italy.

Vincenzo De Cotiis architects and gallery seeks a junior marketing and communications manager with demonstrated marketing, design, and communication skills and a deep knowledge of the various methods and tools to broadly execute our architectural studio, art and collectible design gallery.

The successful candidate should be passionate about art, architecture, collectible design, travel.

Primary responsibilities

Organizational and project-planning skills

Organizational and project-planning skills are paramount, as is the management and coordination between different departments (architecture and interior design studio – art and collectible design gallery and artist as a person)

Content creation and graphic skills:

  • graphic design and editing skills Adobe (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, Lightroom)
  • create and coordinate multimedia packages and resources; manage, research, and organize all existing and future photo and video materials, logos and branding, press clippings, and other promotional assets
  • manage contracted individuals and resources for supplemental graphic design, public relations

PR skills:

  • strong verbal communication skills
  • the ability to represent the interests of the Vincenzo De Cotiis architects and gallery in a variety of settings and events, always promoting the company in the best possible way
  • attend and participate in Vincenzo De Cotiis architects and gallery, special events, and other activities
  • ability to handle sensitive information with diplomacy and discretion

Photography and video skills:

  • photo and video skills
  • photo and video editing skills
  • arrange for photography and/or press coverage for programs and events, and oversee relationships with any freelance contractors

Press management

  • maintain positive relationships with media outlets
  • build, maintain, and engage an active media list for regular press communications surrounding frequent year-round programs and special events
  • manage and implement the media plans
  • plan, prepare and place original promotional content such as articles, news and press releases, email, website and social media posts, and other updates on behalf of Vincenzo De Cotiis architects and gallery

Social media management:

  • draft, edit, and proof press releases on behalf of the organization, in line with the voice and vision of the organization’s CEO and artistic director
  • content development for VDC social media channels, including Twitter and Instagram
  • experience developing creative and engaging social media strategies

Communication and writing skills:

  • appreciation and understanding of the arts
  • manage the timeline of marketing and communication strategies, ranging from e-blasts and social media postings to print mailings and distribution of materials
  • the ability to take accurate notes, summarize and retain information, and seamlessly translate them into future communications
  • demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills
  • ability to present presentations

Website and digital coordination:

  • manage website and digital promotion
  • create, produce, and oversee a broad array of promotional, marketing, and communication materials for the organization across print and digital platforms

Content and archive management

Capture, organize and capitalize on archival photographs, videos, press clippings, quotes, and other valuable media records.

Other requirements:

  • collaborate and coordinate with the manager
  • ability to encourage collaboration across teams and departments
  • multitasking experience, ability to learn new programs and technologies
  • continuously learn and grow within the space
  • assist in delegating and prioritizing necessary tasks across our team


  • university degree in architecture (preferred) or in media studies, journalism, or the arts in combination with a strong affinity for architecture and design
  • at least one year of experience as a communications specialist in an international environment
  • demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills; strong editing and proofreading skills are essential
  • a sense of ambition, initiative and ‘hustle’
  • facility in managing multiple priorities and time-sensitive deadlines
  • proficiency with management software, including database, communication, and event management programs
  • language requirement – English and Italian, French is a plus
