Voza Developments is looking for a designer to join its team in London.
Voza Developments is looking for a designer to join its unique multi-disciplinary team to work on a variety of small and medium scale residential refurbishment projects located in prime central London.
The roles and responsibilities of the successful candidate will be roughly equivalent to that of a Part 2 architectural assistant in a conventional architectural practice and so experience gained may potentially be used towards the RIBA PEDR scheme.
Roles and responsibilities:
- produce design concepts and prepare presentations for clients
- produce detailed design drawings including plans, elevations, details, sections, etc.
- carry out technical coordination including that of services and structure
- produce schedule and specification information
- produce submission information for planning, listed building consent and license to alter applications
- assist with the procurement of furniture, fittings and equipment (FF&E)
- adhere to building regulations and any other applicable legislation
- attend site and address contractor queries
Other things to expect:
- a relaxed and friendly office environment in the heart of Soho
- see multiple projects through from feasibility to completion in a short space of time
- work experience gained with supervision from a registered architect
- regular site visits to a number of sites
- learn from colleagues from different backgrounds including architecture and design, interiors, development, project management and construction
- some flexible working will be permitted
- potential to gain Part 3 qualification if desired
Candidates interested in the role should:
- have recognised Part 1 and 2 qualifications in architecture
- have at least one year of relevant work experience, additional years is advantageous
- have demonstrable technical understanding and knowledge of governing regulations
- be interested to work with a team of people from a variety of backgrounds
- should be able to work independently, be proactive and have attention to detail
- be proficient in computer aided design, ideally Vectorworks
- have the ability to manage time, workload and to multi-task
- have fluent spoken and written English
- be eligible to work in the United Kingdom
The role offered is a part-time role of three days a week with the possibility of going full-time.
