Walder Sharp is hiring an office administrator apprentice to join its team in London.
Due to continued growth, Walder Sharp, a leading civil and structural engineering consultancy based in London, is seeking an organised, proactive, and detail-oriented office administrator apprentice to join our expanding and dynamic team.
About the role
This apprentice position offers a unique blend of responsibilities, including but not limited to: data entry, financial admin and in-house project management, allowing you to develop a diverse skill set and make a meaningful impact on our team.
The apprenticeship includes training within the workplace with at least 20 per cent of your working hours spent training or studying.
You will provide the required support to assist the team in providing continued exceptional Structural Engineering to our clients.
As an office administrator apprentice you will:
- input project details on our internal project management system, along with general data input and other administration tasks as needed
- keep track of incoming fee proposal requests, draft fee proposals, maintain communications regarding fee proposals issued and feedback to the director and senior management team
- assist with financial administrative tasks such as processing invoices, and team expenses
- handling correspondence on business email accounts, respond accordingly and provide an excellent client experience
- day-to-day dealings with our team of structural engineers, liaising with them in regard to their workload and organising site visits
- dealing with phone and email enquiries, organising and storing paperwork, documents and computer based information, manage office supplies and ensure the smooth operation of office equipment and facilities, help with preparing weekly business reports
Requirements/qualifications
Essential:
- proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- strong organisational and time-management skills
- ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively
- attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English (Grade C/4)
- this role is subject to being enrolled on a suitable course (Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship) with an approved training provider. We will work with you to arrange this if required
Desirable:
- experience in a structural engineering or construction environment is a plus but not required
- experience in an admin or related role
- knowledge of office management systems and procedures
