Senior technical architect
at Wendover Studio

Wendover Partners is looking for a senior technical architect to join its growing team in London.

The ideal candidate has exceptional detailing and delivery skills, is highly motivated and has experience through all architectural design and construction stages. You stay informed of industry changes and are passionate about designing and delivering high-quality and well-resolved projects.

Experience on multi-home and private residential projects is required, both new build and renovation, with the ability to work independently and in a team. You will be a point of reference for technical and detailing queries from the office, attending site and dealing with contractors. The role will encompass all RIBA stages but mainly focus on Stages 4 to 6 across all projects in the office. You are confident on-site managing contractors and handling queries as they arise and have experience delivering high-risk buildings. Experience is therefore required in design coordination, technical and detailed drawing, and on-site delivery, snagging and handover. You are able to turn around complex packages single-handedly and mentor younger staff on the minutiae of beautiful detail.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of eight years’ experience post-Part 3 with the position available in our London office.

Requirements:

  • exceptional delivery skills
  • ARB registered
  • minimum six years’ experience running projects in the UK
  • experience on listed buildings required, ideally Grade I
  • outstanding technical knowledge and detailed drawing ability
  • excellent communication, coordination and organizational skills
  • great presentation skills
  • structured working methods and analytical thinking
  • able to work independently and in a team
  • Microstation experience is strongly preferred
  • fluent in English
  • the right to live and work in the UK
