Procurement coordinator
at Winch Design

Winch Design is looking for a procurement coordinator to join its team in London.

Our procurement team is growing, and we are looking for coordinators to join the team.  This is our entry level role into procurement and would suit those who have one to two years experience in a similar role.

Who are procurement at Winch?

Our procurement team work across all of our yacht, aviation and residential projects. Working closely with our designers and finance team, they are responsible for managing the cost, specification, purchase, delivery and install of all owners supply items, of which many are entirely bespoke.

Coordinators will initially take on certain areas of responsibility within their nominated projects and will support a procurement manager, senior procurement manager or associate with the aim of taking responsibility for a full project at the right time.

The greater your experience, the greater your remit and responsibility. Development opportunities and progression within procurement are common place.

Professional skills and behavioural traits:

  • minimum one year purchasing experience in luxury residential, yacht, aircraft projects
  • a design qualification would be beneficial
  • strong design awareness and ability to interpret sketches and conceptual designs into detailed working specifications
  • experience of the FF&E research and procurement process
  • high level of numeracy and accuracy
  • strong communication skills to promote and explain ideas and build relationships
  • detail oriented problem solver
  • proactive and forward thinker
  • client focused with ability to go to the extra mile
  • react positively to feedback by being flexible and open to change
  • InDesign knowledge would be beneficial
  • filemaker – WD training will be provided

Responsibilities and deliverables:

  • set up, maintain, and issue full specifications for projects
  • create initial FF&E budgets based on GA and visuals
  • issue purchase orders, sign off invoices and track account balances for multiple projects
  • organise all logistical aspects of Owners Supply items – inspections, deliveries, installations, etc
  • partner with project managers and interior designers to ensure successful delivery on all projects
  • liaise closely with finance keeping them updated at all times re. project costs, changes in quotes, budgets, etc
  • liaise with Interiors team for decorative direction and implementation
  • actively know the status of every FF&E item from supplier to client
  • provide schedules and progress reports to all relevant parties throughout the project
  • liaise with appointed suppliers – negotiate pricing, follow up all purchase orders, organise deliveries to correct locations, build relationships, etc
  • organise onsite installations which include lifting, carrying and packing
  • assist with client presentation preparation – samples, images, custom items, etc
  • manage care and maintenance, warranty and aftersales with client team following project delivery
  • maintain accurate filing for procurement purposes
  • travel as required with team leader approval
  • attend Trade shows as and when necessary
  • coordinators will complete all elements under the guidance of senior procurement managers

Remuneration and benefits:

  • salary of £25k – £30k, depending on level of experience
  • hours 9:30am – 5:30pm – Monday to Friday
  • 24 days annual leave per annum

Interview process and timeline:

Interviews will be a minimum of two stages, and a mix of on-line and in person at the studio in SW14. Interviews to commence ASAP.
