Junior/senior interior designer

WTL Design is recruiting a junior/senior interior designer to join its team in London.
Interested in a unique opportunity to be part of our design team and working on bringing world-class design expertise to the exciting and dynamic Chinese market. This exciting opportunity requires the successful candidate to have strong conceptual design skills. Interest in working on large-scale new builds as well as refurbishments for commercial projects is desirable.
This position will require working on all stages of a project from conception to completion. Your work will be integral in helping the team bid for new projects, and deliver a service which meets or exceeds the client’s expectations. The role of interior designer will include developing content for proposals and designing presentations, and graphics. This will also be a leading role when developing new and exciting design concepts.

Key responsibilities:
- coordinating the development of proposals and sales presentations
- developing conceptual designs using various graphic techniques, including hand-drawn as well as computer-generated visuals with 3ds Max, Auto CAD, Photoshop and SketchUp
- preparing written specifications, working drawings, and construction documents, including verification that designs meet relevant building codes
- attend site meetings and review design issues throughout construction
- working with project leaders to problem – solve design and buildability issues while realising original design intent
- willingness to work in an international environment
Job requirements
To be successful in this interior designer role, you need to be able to adapt to an international work culture as well as have a kind heart. You are creative, an out-of-the-box thinker and have a deep passion for bringing dreams into reality.
Qualifications and key competencies:
- mastery of 3ds Max, AutoCAD, Photoshop and SketchUp
- an outstanding portfolio of interior design work
- demonstrated ability to produce unique design concepts, with strong sense of colour coordination
- ability to coordinate efficiently on multiple simultaneous projects
- knowledge of applicable building code and regulations
- strong ownership of design concepts and their realisation for major projects
- strong bidding and presentation skills
- strong communication, negotiation and coordination skills
- a degree in interior design, architecture or equivalent from an accredited program
- working proficiency in English
- candidates must be willing to work in Beijing, China

Location: Beijing
This role is a full-time, on-site position and is based in our office in Beijing. The position invites applicants based in London who are willing to relocate to Beijing.
