We work with leading interior designers, furniture manufacturers and hospitality clients, supplying them with textiles that help bring their chosen atmosphere to any design scheme or piece of furniture.
Job role
The role involves managing the day-to-day bookkeeping and updating of our accounting software applications. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including accounts reconciliations, staff expenses and chasing late payments. You’ll work closely with our team assisting with customer invoice queries and refunds, pricing and reporting. You’ll also have the opportunity to help improve financial processes and manage costs.
Duties and responsibilities:
- maintain and manage the accounts payable and receivable functions
- maintain and update Dext and Quickbooks with accurate information
- reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies
- bank reconciliations
- deal with invoice queries and amendments
- organise refunds and credit notes
- chase late payments and pro forma invoices
- manage, review and pay staff expenses
- excel reporting and data manipulation
- assist with updating price lists
- identify areas for cost savings and process improvements
- assist with the preparation of VAT returns
- support the preparation of management accounts and month-end duties
- manage the pension scheme
- maintain confidentiality of financial information
- requirements and skills
- previous experience in a similar role
- strong attention to detail and accuracy is a must
- proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks
- excellent organisational and time management skills
- ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks
- effective communication and interpersonal skills
- knowledge of basic accounting principles
- familiarity with financial regulations and compliance
- handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity and discretion
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Key job details
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5:30 pm
Holidays: 5.6 weeks inclusive of any public/bank holidays
Salary: based on qualification and experience
