About us

Yinka Ilori is a London based multidisciplinary artist of a British-Nigerian heritage, who specialises in storytelling by fusing his British and Nigerian heritage to tell new stories in contemporary design. He began his practice in 2011 up-cycling vintage furniture, inspired by the traditional Nigerian parables and West African fabrics that surrounded him as a child.

The studio now consists of a team of colour-obsessed architects and designers, with the expertise and capacity to take on large-scale architectural and interior design projects.

The studio continues to experiment with the relationship between function and form, with an output that sits between traditional divisions of art and design.

We are looking for a design assistant to join us. Working closely with Yinka Ilori and the product team to support the overall vision.

  • working closely with the product team to research, design and develop commercially relevant products
  • supporting the studio on general design tasks for public realm, architectural and graphic design projects
  • creation of newsletters and support on general marketing with graphics
  • presenting print and graphic ideas to colleagues
  • create presentations on new commercial product ideas and print application using available resources
  • support inspiration and creativity in the studio
  • manage art work files to ensure they’re factory ready
  • feedback to factories on development samples

Essential skills:

  • minimum of 18 months’ previous experience designing product, particularly in the gift and homewares category
  • good understanding of colour, composition and print to product processes
  • ability to work across a variety of mediums, have strong drawing skills and the ability to understand and develop the studio handwriting
  • proficient computer skills including Photoshop, Adobe and Illustrator and CAD comfortable and confident in Mac OS, Office 365, and have basic InDesign skills
  • great time management skills with the ability to priorities tasks and work to multiple deadlines
  • previous experience working as part of a design team, taking direction when required
  • able to work at speed: both in collaboration with others and also independently
  • providing solutions with a positive outlook; ability to juggle a number of projects simultaneously
  • strong communication skills
  • demonstrate excellent agility, identifying consumer trends
  • interested in design and the creative industries
  • ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, diplomacy, and professionalism
  • positive can-do attitude
