Talent acquisition specialist
at Zaha Hadid Architects
The purpose of this role will be to oversee the entire recruitment lifecycle from sourcing candidates to screening applicants and managing the offers, as well as managing the early career programmes.
Main responsibilities
Talent sourcing and attraction:
- develop and implement internal recruitment strategies to identify and attract top talent within the organisation
- utilise various sourcing methods, including job postings, working with recruiters and approaching candidates
- build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future internal positions
Candidate screening and selection:
- review resumes, applications and create shortlists
- conduct initial phone screens and coordinate interviews with hiring managers/project coordinators
- evaluate candidates’ skills, experience and cultural fit
Interviewing guidance:
- provide training for interviewers on effective interviewing techniques
- develop template interview questions for interviewers to use and ensure a consistent approach across the practice
Collaboration and relationship building:
- partner with department heads and P&T team to understand staffing needs and organisational goals
- build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth and efficient hiring process
- serve as a point of contact for internal candidates, providing timely updates and feedback throughout the recruitment process
Immigration:
- keep up to date on the latest immigration rules that may impact recruitment needs and to ensure compliance for candidates from overseas
- advise managers and employees on requirements, process and timelines
- discuss with candidates if they need sponsorship
Recruitment reporting and administration:
- track and analyse recruitment metrics to measure the effectiveness of internal hiring efforts
- provide regular reports and updates to the business and to the head of P&T
- identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance the recruitment process
- gain sign-off for the hiring processes
- ensure vacancy and candidate details are correct and up to date
- ensure the applicant tracking software via the HRIS is utilised to its full potential, suggest improvements and work with the head of people and talent and the external software provider to implement improvements and updates
Early careers:
- to lead the planning and delivery of apprenticeship and early careers programmes, including internships and work experience
- ensure the applicant tracking system for the company’s internships and work experience programmes via the HRIS software and staff referrals is up to date and correct
- managing the onboarding and offboarding processes for the early careers programs, from conducting right to work checks to coordinating internal processes with IT, accounts, facilities and reception
- to work collaboratively with hiring managers to shortlist candidates to promote and attract the very best early careers talent, improving workforce diversity and enabling people of all backgrounds to develop successful careers
- to act as a point of contact throughout the apprenticeship and early careers programs, including pastoral, learning and peer-to-peer support, to ensure that all learners can achieve their full potential
- build relationships with external universities and organisations to promote apprenticeship and internship offers and seek opportunities to attend careers fairs and networking events
- attend regular meetings with hiring managers for effective planning and delivery of the apprenticeship and early careers programs on offer
- to continuously look at ways to improve attraction, onboarding and offboarding experience for candidates and internally across departments
Talent development and retention:
- support internal career development initiatives by identifying potential career paths and opportunities for employees, nurturing the next generation of talent
- work closely with the P&T team on learning and development initiatives to promote internal training and development programs
- will have acquired thorough knowledge of internal recruitment
- ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and new challenges
- previous experience working with early careers
- excellent standard of written and spoken English
Skills required:
- up to date, practical knowledge of UK employment law (international also desirable)
- good working knowledge of recruitment
- exceptional communicator, flexible in style and able to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
- customer orientated
- proven ability to overcome problems with a positive attitude and integrity
- strong project management skills
- good organisational skills, able to manage multiple changing requests and priorities
- solid administrative skills with a keen eye for detail and numeracy
