Zulufish is hiring an architectural design manager to join its team in London.

About Zulufish

Zulufish is a friendly, award-winning design studio working on mid to high end residential projects, mostly in prime London areas, specialising in private family homes.

We’re a Design & Build company, operating an architectural division alongside interior design, cost consultancy and construction, therefore you will have full exposure to all aspects of design and construction (as seen through the lens of the contractor).

We are looking to recruit a self-motivated senior architect for this role.

Role and responsibilities:

  • leading projects from initial pitch to on-site delivery
  • managing designers, timelines, and workflow efficiency
  • presenting to clients and consultants
  • overseeing project schedules, budgets, and internal processes
  • assisting directors with proposals and strategy
  • supervising the team through all RIBA Stages, including detailed design, and documentation
  • mentoring and assisting the design team on projects
  • coordinating with all consultants, including contractors, engineers, and design team on site
  • contributing to senior management meetings, studio operations, leadership, and business growth

Required skills and experience:

  • Part 3 UK registered architect (ARB)
  • minimum of 10 years project lead working experience within UK (RIBA)
  • experience in mid to high-end residential projects
  • manage projects at all RIBA Stages
  • strong understanding of design and construction process
  • proven leadership experience across high end residential projects
  • residential planning experience (ideally with a background in listed buildings)
  • confident at managing busy schedules and priorities
  • on-site experience and real-time problem-solving approach
  • excellent IT skills – AutoCAD, Excel, InDesign as a minimum
  • strong client communication, both in person and in writing
  • fluent in spoken and written English – essential
