London, United Kingdom
Zap Architecture is looking for a vibrant and exciting designer to join its ever growing team. We are a creative architecture practice that seeks to blur the boundaries between art and architecture. We work on serious architecture projects ranging from residential to commercial, while the studio is often peppered with more playful projects. These could range from installation design, furniture design, events, sculptures and exhibitions. This year we are unveiling six different Summer pop-up event spaces as well as three residential schemes.
If you work for Zap, you will be expected to take control of projects from concept design right through to handing over construction drawings to the client. The willingness to learn and excel within a young growing practice is vital. We are not a huge office, we do fix our own printers and we do make cardboard models on each project. We take our fun and playful projects seriously and know we are only as good as our last pitch presentation or drawing. As we are small, we expect maximum interaction on all projects.
Initiative and graphic skills are necessary. We have fun, we work hard and we are proud of everything that leaves the studio. Ideally we want an experienced Part-II (or equivalent) who possesses a competent command of AutoCAD (for Mac), SketchUp Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, hand drawing and model making. An ability to render in V-Ray plugin for SketchUp will be looked upon favourably as will Rhino/3D Max capabilities. Experience of London residential projects is an asset. We do not need interior designers at this time.
We are based in Westminster and Stratford
