Junior furniture designer

Laplace is looking for a junior furniture designer to join its team in Paris.

Laplace is urgently looking for a motivated, talented and ambitious furniture designer with a minimum of three years’ of professional experience to work in its Paris office on high-end interior residential projects.

Candidates will assist our senior furniture designers in the execution of client projects and internal developments, production follow-up, and R&D. They will handle simple client projects while gaining exposure to high-end furniture

Key responsibilities:

  • work in synergy with the architecture and FF&E teams to ensure design coherence
  • maintain development & production schedule per project up to date
  • produce 2D drawings and 3D models for bespoke pieces
  • create renderings (white background and in-situ)
  • archive 3D models in the studio’s design database
  • monitor production processes: review shop drawings, prototypes, and material samples
  • collect and analyse quotes
  • ensure quality control through photo or workshop visits.
  • assist the architecture and FF&E project teams
  • uphold proposals that align with ergonomic principles and manufacturability feasibility
  • maintain a keen awareness of the agency’s expectations and priorities
  • adhere to production schedules to ensure timely project delivery.
  • contribute to the design of the furniture line
  • ensure aesthetic and technical consistency across all designs is achieved
  • assist the senior creative lead in research on artisans, materials, and innovative processes
  • create moodboards and reference library updates
  • contribute to the development of innovative concepts

Software proficiency:

  • expertise in Rhinocéros software for both 3D and 2D design
  • experience with Enscape for rendering purposes
  • proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Suite
  • knowledge of project management tools and Pack Office
  • knowledge of SketchUp is advantageous
  • basic knowledge of AutoCADis appreciated

Employment requirements:

  • EU passport
  • lives in Paris or able to relocate at short notice
  • fluent in English and French, Spanish would be a plus
  • ready to start asap
