Established in 1912, University of Hong Kong is a public research university in Hong Kong. When it was initially formed, the university hosted four faculties including arts, engineering, medicine and science. It has since gone on to expand its offering to include sciences, dentistry, biomedicine, humanities, political and social sciences, economics and linguistics.
The Department of Architecture was introduced in 1950, and subsequently became the Faculty of Architecture. The faculty has several departments that cover architecture, real estate and construction, urban planning and landscape architecture. Its main campus is in Hong Kong, with a study centre based in Shanghai.
