Part 1/2 architectural assistant

Philippa Thorp Design is seeking a Part 1 or Part 2 architectural assistant to join its team in London.
Purpose of role:
- support to the design team
Overview of the role:
- architectural assistants will typically work as part of a team, under the control of a project architect or project interior architect and will be expected to assist the team in the design and production of schemes within the office
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- architectural drawing and sketching design solutions by hand
- developing schemes using 2D and 3D computer AutoCAD packages such as Vectorworks and SketchUp
- producing 3D images using AutoCAD and rendering packages
- good knowledge of PhotoShop
- creating 3D physical models
- producing reports. Knowledge of InDesign an advantage
- producing /maintaining other documents using programmes such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Photoshop
- researching products, materials, buildings etc as directed
- making presentations within practice to staff on projects
- operating standard filing systems within office for drawings and correspondence
- assisting in general duties in the office
- undertaking all job activities in line with Health and Safety guidance and requirements
Reports to:
- project architect, project interior architect
Works with:
- design team
Appraised by:
- managing director
- head of architecture
Required Skills:
- RIBA Part 1 qualifications as a minimum
- software packages as described above
- presentation skills
- numerical skills
- VR knowledge will be considered an advantage but not mandatory
