Interior designer / senior creative lead
at vision alphabet

Vision Alphabet is seeking an interior designer and senior creative lead to join its team remotely.

Vision Alphabet is a small studio designing high-end hospitality and residential spaces across borders and continents.

We work with lifestyle hotel brands such as Casa Cook and Cook’s Club, and with investors developing hotels, villas, and entire destinations.

What connects these projects is a single ambition: to treat the place, its materials, and the people who move through it with the same seriousness.

How we think about space:

We design by removal rather than addition. A place arrives with its own conditions – proportion, light, the constraints of structure and budget – and our task is to read them precisely and respond with restraint. What remains should feel less like a decision than a consequence – inevitable, particular, unrepeatable elsewhere.

The role:

A senior creative role in a small, agile studio, where vision meets the craft of making it happen.

You’ll set the design direction and hold it, from the first uncertain sketch to the last considered detail on site. Several projects run in parallel, and the ambition is shared — but the decisions are yours to shape.

Our work spans both ground-up projects and transformation. We design new spaces from scratch, and we take tired, ageing hotels and turn them into places that feel entirely new.

Both call for the same thing: invention over expense, the ability to see what matters, and the discipline to achieve a great deal with just a few precise moves.

Who we’re looking for:

Someone who understands reduction as a strength – who knows that a quiet, minimal space is made not by adding, but by knowing what to leave out, and who holds onto that clarity even when the budget is tight.

Someone who treats AI not as a shortcut but as a tool for speed: using it to move faster through variations, visualisation, and routine tasks, then investing the time saved exactly where AI has nothing to offer — in judgement, in taste, in deciding what is right.

Someone who understands that every country brings its own context, its own materials and customs. We want someone who meets that with genuine curiosity and cultural openness – who settles into a place rather than imposing a finished idea upon it.

Concretely, you bring:

  • a degree in interior design, architecture, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • a portfolio demonstrating a strong personal aesthetic, stylistic range, and genuine creative ambition – the primary basis for assessment
  • proven ability to take creative ownership of a project from concept through to site
  • skilled at sourcing FF&E to a design brief with speed and precision; experienced in managing product selection within defined budgets
  • experience with contract-grade specification — durability, fire ratings, and the demands of hospitality use
  • confident in producing and presenting moodboards, concept narratives, and design proposals to a high standard
  • proficient in Vectorworks or AutoCAD for technical drawing; experience with SketchUp is an advantage
  • experienced with AI-assisted design tools as part of an active creative workflow, or a clear willingness to integrate them
  • excellent communicator – able to engage clearly and persuasively with clients, suppliers, contractors, and creative collaborators
  • hospitality experience strongly preferred
  • clear, intelligible English – most of our clients are not native speakers, so being understood across languages matters more than a large vocabulary

How and where:

We keep an administrative office in Munich, but Vision Alphabet is a virtual studio at heart – our team is distributed across the world.

You’re welcome to work from the office if you’re nearby, but you don’t have to: you can contribute from anywhere, freely and on your own terms. The role is open anywhere between 60% and full-time, depending on what suits you.

Our studio runs on Vectorworks, SketchUp, Enscape & Veras, Programa, Midjourney, Eagle, and InDesign.

Familiarity with all of them isn’t expected – but a genuine willingness to engage with the full toolkit is essential.
