Mid-weight Interior designer

TGP International is looking for a mid-weight interior designer to join its team in London.

TGP International are a hospitality consultancy based in London and Dubai.  We team up with passionate brands, clients and entrepreneurs to make their long-term vision a reality through concept development, creative interior design, graphic design and branding, franchising, advisory and operational services and project management.

The Role:

This role is suited to a dynamic designer who enjoys being exposed to the full design process. You would be joining a small team and working at pace on creative international restaurant and bar projects from start to finish. Ideas and input will be expected and welcomed.

Responsibilities:

  • lead or work on multiple F&B projects in the UK and abroad
  • developing strong concepts that have clear core ideas and rationale
  • developing narratives and storytelling moments that engage people
  • creating palettes and sourcing materials for design projects
  • creating layouts and spatial design that focus on the guest experience
  • developing joinery details that suit the project’s needs and aspirations
  • producing or reviewing detailed drawing packages and finishes and FF&E specifications, complete with technical requirements
  • assisting and mentoring junior designers
  • gathering information for project budgets
  • on-site meetings and virtual meetings
  • liaising with consultants and contractors
  • reporting to a senior designer on projects or the design directors
  • sometimes will be required to take a project lead role

Required skills and experience:

  • varied and detailed experience working on restaurant, hospitality and/or retail projects
  • confident in designing and running their own projects under the direction of the senior members of the team
  • an all-round designer who has experience working on projects from concept to completion
  • creativity, flair and passion for great quality interior design
  • able to share your passion for design and motivate others
  • organised and efficient, and used to working to deadlines
  • excellent presentation skills and interpersonal skills
  • autonomous and self-motivated
  • highly collaborative and adaptable, keen to work as part of a team
  • strong technical skills with the ability to create detailed drawing packages
  • experience producing detailed FF&E specification with costings, materials, finishes and schedules
  • must be proficient in Autocad, Photoshop and SketchUp
  • must be proficient in Microsoft applications and in producing client presentations
  • bachelor’s degree in interior design or interior architecture from an accredited school
  • proof of right to work in the UK.

The successful candidates will be working within our Covent Garden studio, London for three days per week. We work remotely some of the time in a hybrid model.
