HÁM is hiring a senior architectural technician to join its team in Henley, UK.

Full-time, immediate start.

Office-based with some flexibility for remote working.

We are looking for an experienced senior architectural technician to join our busy and growing studio. The role would suit someone who enjoys working across high-end private residential projects and has a genuine interest in both contemporary and historic architecture.

Our current work includes a variety of new-build and restoration projects in London and across the UK.

The role

You will work closely with our architects, clients, consultants and contractors, developing projects from design through to construction. The role will involve producing and coordinating detailed technical information, resolving construction and detailing issues, and supporting projects on site.

We are looking for someone with excellent technical and presentation skills, a conscientious and sensitive approach to design, and a thorough understanding of construction processes, Building Regulations and technical detailing.

Experience with traditional construction and detailing is particularly important.

The ideal candidate will have:

• significant experience working as an architectural technician, preferably within a UK architectural practice
• strong technical knowledge and a thorough understanding of construction processes and Building Regulations
• excellent knowledge of technical and traditional detailing
• proven experience taking projects through to construction
• UK site experience, ideally on private residential projects
• experience working collaboratively with clients, contractors, sub-contractors and the wider project team
• excellent organisational skills, with a high level of self-management and attention to detail
• excellent presentation and communication skills
• an interest in, and a good eye for, high-end residential architecture and historic buildings
• fluency in Vectorworks or equivalent CAD software is essential
• hand-drawing skills are very welcome

Note: this is not an interior design or interior architecture position.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving technical problems and can work independently while contributing positively to a small, collaborative team. A sense of humour is also very welcome.
