Practice manager
HTA Design is seeking a practice manager for its Edinburgh branch.
Contract: permanent, full-time

HTA Design is an award-winning multi-disciplinary design partnership of specialist teams working collaboratively in architecture, landscape architecture, communications, sustainability and planning.
An exciting opportunity exists at HTA’s busy design studio in Edinburgh for an experienced practice/studio manager looking for a new full-time challenge.
This role involves supporting c. 30 members of staff and working closely with the partner and senior associate in Edinburgh to deliver strategic and day-to-day operational office management functions within the team.
You will also collaborate with other key managers based in London to deliver aspects of work relating to marketing and events, organisational development, HR, finance and internal communications in accordance with HTA’s business Ppan and agreed protocols.
The successful candidate will have:
- experience of working in a busy design studio/practice environment, handling varied and sometimes heavy and conflicting workloads
- experience of implementing and dealing with business systems, administration, HR and managing finances and service provisions
- effective people management/coaching skills, including leadership, team-building and motivational skills
- excellent communication skills, including highly developed influencing, negotiating skills, with the ability to build and maintain key relationships within a constantly changing environment
- strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal sensitively with a variety of audiences, issues and apply appropriate judgement
- exceptional organisation skills with the ability to work on a range of projects and/or tasks simultaneously, to establish priorities, delegate effectively and work to deadlines under pressure
- an eye for quality and good attention to detail
- strong customer service skills
- practical knowledge of health and safety practices at work
- a knowledge and experience of ISO9001 is desirable, but not essential
