Role description
We are looking for a keen and enthusiastic social media officer to coordinate and grow our social media presence. We’re an international practice with three studios – London, Hong Kong and Sydney – and we’re looking to grow our brand and international profile. The social media officer is a creative and flexible role that you can shape and make your own. You will join a progressive, award-winning communications and graphics team where everyone has a say and where your ideas will be valued.
Key tasks:
- manage Make’s core social media channels
- create and curate content for the channels from concept to execution
- manage and maintain the social media calendar
- work with the press officer to ensure Make’s news and events are communicated effectively and regularly
- work with the graphics team to create beautifully designed content
- work with the architects and designers to extract ideas and content for use online and to bring Make’s projects to life on social media
- engage with stakeholders online including Makers, journalists, clients, peers, etc
- ensure all content is aligned with the Make brand
- keep up-to-date on social media trends as well as technology and digital innovations
- provide quarterly reporting across all channels
- monitor competitor activity
- manage internal Instagram photo competition
- deliver training on social media best practice internally
- contribute to team brainstorming
Skills and experience:
- excellent knowledge of a variety of social media channels, including Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
- a background or previous experience working in the design and architecture or built environment would be an advantage
- an understanding of other overseas social networks is a plus, including WeChat and Weibo
- knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator (desirable)
- moving image and video editing skills are a plus
- ability to create dynamic animations and video content
- strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
- a good understanding of the current social landscape with knowledge of key trends and influencers
