Debbie Flevotomou Architects is seeking a business development/PR manager to join its firm in London.

General:

Debbie Flevotomou Architects, a boutique architectural practice in Mayfair, is recruiting a business development and communication associate with the aim to identify new business opportunities and promoting the practice in England and abroad.

The successful candidate should ideally have experience in architecture and the construction industry. The role will involve the creating and advancing business development opportunities, bidding responsibilities and online marketing.

The position will be of a ‘hands-on’ nature, and the candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with Debbie (the company owner) in the same office and collaborate very closely in every activity and campaign.

This role has the potential for expansion. The successful candidate can create his/her team to lead. If the successful candidate shows the required talent, and meets the requisite targets, the opportunity may also lead to a partner’s post in the practice.

Job responsibilities:

  • marketing to existing and potential clients, identify new clients in England and abroad and deal with newsletters, catch up meetings, networking events and social invitations
  • prepare brochures and supporting materials for the marketing of the company
  • accompany Debbie in the client’s meeting or accompany Debbie when giving a speech and help with the company’s introduction
  • attend networking events, both during the day and after work and arrange follow up meetings with potential clients
  • help the company’s database to grow and create/send newsletters on a regular basis
  • help bid teams with bid submissions and advise on bidding process
  • contact potential clients in England and abroad and introduce the company
  • develop new marketing messages for social media and establish more the online presence of the company
  • create PR opportunities and contact major publications for articles and press coverage. Establish the close working relationships that needed with the journalists
  • write content for press releases
  • develop and advise on the company’s websites

Candidates requirements:

  • three years’ minimum of experience as business development manager and/or PR specialists
  • love for architecture and design
  • excellent knowledge of the construction news and design debates
  • exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to work under pressure
  • ability to engage with all audiences, switching tones and approach
  • ambition to grow the team and become the team leader
