Paul Vick Architects is recruiting a qualified (post-Part 3) architect with three-plus years’ experience to join its team in Chiswick, west London.

Located in a convenient, attractive location, this is a role for an energetic self-starter with an open mind who can lead a small team. The role requires good communication skills, flexibility to adapt, research and is comfortable working on projects that are multi-disciplinary across cultural, commercial and residential. There is the opportunity for a career path and to learn the methodology and approach of the Most Innovative Architecture Firm London 2019 and 2018, Best Cultural Architecture Practice UK 2019, Best Construction Adviser UK 2017.
Essential:
- qualified architect (ARB) – with UK office experience
- excellent communication skills, English fluency is essential. Successful candidates will be expected to liaise directly with clients, consultants, contractors and local authorities
- technical experience with detailing and specifications
- excellent design understanding and passion for architecture
- knowledge of UK planning policies and building regulations
Desired skills:
- proficient in MicroStation, SketchUp, Photoshop and InDesign
- confidence in working independently and willingness to take on responsibility and develop new skills quickly
- maturity and ability to communicate effectively with the team and clients
- excellent organisational skills and ability to follow systems
- construction site experience
Initial outputs will be – but are not limited to:
- develop design from pre-planning sketches
- develop design according to building control regulations
- prepare presentations to express design ideas and fit-outs
- liaise with consultants and contractors
- detail and coordinate packages
- undertake site inspections
