Watershedd is hiring a project architect with relevant experience in running residential projects to join its team in London or Cornwall, UK.
Watershedd is a unique design-led architecture and development company based in London and Cornwall. Working predominantly in the southwest on high-end private houses and bespoke commercial projects. We have a number of existing projects on site and in the design process, some of which are our own developments and others for private individuals.
We are looking for an ambitious, organised Architect with experience in running private residential projects. The studio is based in London but we are also looking to expand our presence in Cornwall so the role would be based either in London or in Cornwall depending on the candidates preference. We also offer remote flexible working working arrangements by agreement.
Responsibilities:
- producing design presentations and mood boards for new and ongoing projects.
- producing drawings for planning applications and detailed tender packages.
- liaising directly with external consultants e.g. structural and mechanical engineers to obtain specific technical details to include within drawings
- attending on-site meetings and managing queries as required.
Skills:
- creative – demonstrable examples of creative designs in particular high-end residential including 3D modelling and 2D hand drawing
- technical – demonstrable examples of technical drawings (building scale and detail) which illustrates your understanding of UK building regulations, as well as a good understanding of contract administration
- project management – the ability to work on simultaneous projects with a quick turnaround of thorough, detailed, accurate drawings
- teamwork – we work very much as a team and make decisions together. It is important that you enjoy working as part of a team and individually when required
- self-motivated to learn and develop
- fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and a CAD drawing package, preferably Vectorworks, or a willingness to learn
Essential: registered architect with Part 1, 2 and 3 or equivalent. Current eligibility to work in the UK and good written and spoken English.
