Design project manager

Get Living London has an opportunity for a design project manager in London.
Main purpose of role
Managing projects that span across development plots, built plots and the public realm. The nature of the work means working with colleagues across all departments in the company.
Operations/projects:
- checking detailed contractor drawings submitted through the design stages to ensure compliance with client brief – to include apartment layouts, kitchens, bathrooms, joinery items, lobbies, resident areas, landscaping etc.
- working with interior design consultants to develop interior concepts and designs for apartments, lobbies and resident areas
- writing briefing documents for internal and external use
- lead coordinator role in the mobilisation of new sites
- preparing CAD design layouts for management offices, resident amenity, co-working, co-living, etc.
- lead project management for tenders and fit out of these areas
- monitoring fit-out works by contractors/suppliers to include snagging and sign off for stage payments
- developing key supplier relationships such as appliances, flooring, brassware, etc.

- challenging the sector’s accepted norm
- investigating new initiatives
Requirements:
- educated to a degree level or equivalent
- working with CAD
- understanding of planning guidance for residential developments such as London Housing Design Guidelines
- confidence with using contractor document management systems such as Conject, Asite, Dome
- report and brief writing
- setting up and managing Excel spreadsheets
- understanding of architect plans and construction drawings
- experience of managing competing demands, with demonstrable relevant transferable skills
- demonstrable success in customer service delivery and appraisal
- excellent track record of performance
- architectural design experience in residential/hotel/student/care home – preferably large-scale schemes
- project management
- preparing and running tenders for works with a value up to £10m
- cost analysis
