Southampton City Council is seeking a Part 1 architectural assistant to join its team in Southampton, UK.

Job description

We are looking for a keen and self-motivated individual to undertake the role of a RIBA Part 1 architectural assistant within Southampton City Council’s design services team.

You will be working under the supervision of an architect and be able to work with architects within the context of the multidisciplinary design services team. This is a fixed-term post enabling the individual to return to full-time university studies for RIBA Part 2 in September 2021.

We are looking for an individual to play an integral part within a multi-disciplinary design services team for the successful delivery of professional services for a variety of sectors within the Council, across the full range of RIBA work stages.

You will be comfortable using software, such as Autodesk and Adobe Creative tools to create 2D and 3D graphic and visualisation images for a variety of purposes. You should also be comfortable with writing and presentation skills to support formal submissions.

You will be assigned a mentor to ensure you gain a wide range of work experiences and study leave days (in addition to your standard annual leave entitlement) to support your formal architectural training.
