R&D director
at Stellar Works
Stellar Works is seeking an R&D director to join its team in Shanghai.
Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- lead and oversee the overall R&D department activities, manage and schedule the new product development of the Stellar Works collection through a viable roadmap and responsible for improving
products, creating new ones and making production processes more efficient - in charge of leading the development of new design collections based on continuous liaising with external designers while balancing mass production requirements. Visualize and track several projects
simultaneously, coordinate the department resources in order to oversee timelines, costs and objectives - mentoring and leading the team for tailored design solutions that one may achieve the initial concept, ensuring projects are completed on time within budget in accordance with the corporate strategic plans
and roadmaps - evaluate the feasibility of the custom-made projects and follow-up the entire production phases. Provide technical solutions and improvements direction during the pre-production and mass production of the
Stellar Works collection - responsible for foreshadowing, managing and outlining the successful product portfolio with a sensibility to identify the categories needed to be implemented with new projects and bridging between relevant
figures and departments involved in the process - other tasks assigned by the company
Qualifications:
- diploma degree or above with eight years’ experience working in furniture/product design/development
- over five years’ experience at furniture product development and with an aptitude to leading and managing
team members - familiar with manufacturing process. Such as wood, metal, glass, ceramics, textile production
- familiar with relevant development software. Such as Solid works, Rhino, AutoCAD
- good command of English and Mandarin
- strong product costing experience with demonstrated effective negotiating skills
- demonstrated ability to work in a proactively and devise organization;
- demonstrated ability to develop co-workers and subordinates through sharing skills and knowledge with
others - effective, solution-oriented, problem solving and mediation skills
