Ciarcelluti Mathers Architecture is looking for a sustainably minded Part 2 or Part 3 architect with residential experience to join its team in London.

About us

We are a growing Dalston-based practice, that designs healthier homes that put family first. We specialise in sustainable home retrofit, helping individuals and families build their perfect future-proof home. We currently have range of exciting residential projects in London and are looking to expand our team. Our work is underpinned by the Passivhaus fabric first methodology without losing sight of the healthy benefits of architecture: space, light, view, and delight. We are looking for an additional team member that shares our passion and commitment to architecture and the environment.

The ideal candidate will:

  • be motivated, proactive and have a strong sense of responsibility
  • organised and detail orientated
  • share our commitment to the environment
  • thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • have experience at all stages of design
  • have a particular passion for rigour and technical mastery expressed through the design, detailing and delivery of high-quality buildings
  • have a background in residential work
  • be confident and open-minded
  • have a broad understanding and appreciation for architectural design

All applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • experience in working on residential projects
  • a recognised Part 2 or equivalent degree as a minimum
  • a minimum of three years’ relevant UK experience
  • excellent CAD skills (Vectorworks 2d and BIM preferred) and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • experience and the ability to work independently from stage 4 and onward
  • knowledge of the UK building regulations
  • job-running experience
  • excellent communication skills. Fluent spoken and written English
  • currently resident in the UK with the right to live and work here

The following would be advantageous but not essential for the application:

  • knowledge and experience with sustainable construction and/or Passivhaus (experience with Design PH and PHPP)
  • contract administration experience
  • knowledge of NBS specification software and contract administration experience
  • have experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop and InDesign) and 3D rendering software (e.g. SketchUp, V-Ray, 3DS Max preferred)
  • physical modelmaking skills
