MATHs
You will be part of a multidisciplinary creative team, driving innovation by design. MATHs is the sub studio of BAO and stands for makers, artists, thinkers, hackers. The team focuses on the design requirements of BAO, interiors, and spatial projects; as well as being part of a multidisciplinary team designing new perspectives on food and special projects.
The role
The senior architect will support the project development of our restaurants, coordinate and ensure all projects are efficiently managed and delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner. In this role, you will act as the project architect developing and enhancing restaurant designs whilst also ensuring that existing and new doors meet the appropriate quality standards. You will have impeccable 2D and rendering skills using software such as Rhinoceros, V-Ray, AutoCAD, Revit etc. You will be receptive to regular and constructive feedback, allow adequate time to propose several alternatives and deal with various directors.
Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- develop design for restaurants & new projects under the guidance of the creative director
- generate design for specialised projects including office, pop-up
- installation and exhibition space where and when necessary
- produce full-set construction documentation for bidding and construction
- conduct regular construction site visits and factory visits to monitor quality
- produce graphic visualisation drawings
- conduct monthly restaurant visits for assessment on defects and suggest ways to improve restaurant layout
- provide analysis of restaurant rectification and restaurant redesign requirements – produce drawings and documentation for actual work to be carried out
- produce design presentation packages
About you:
- bachelor’s degree in architecture, design, or similar field
- previous experience working in architecture and/or store planning with a strong portfolio
- impeccable attention to detail and an insistence on quality
- articulate communicator with ability to problem solve and influence
- the ability build strong relationships with partners, stakeholders, local authorities, and consultants
- flexibility to travel to support project tasks if/when required
