Martin Brudnizki Design Studio is seeking an accounts or financial assistant to join its team in London.

Job description

The accounts assistant will report to the finance manager, work closely with the office manager and procurement team to ensure MBDS finances are accurate and organised. The individual will have strong verbal and written communication skills as he/she will be in regular contact with all levels of staff. Initially, they will be responsible for all customer billing and revenue collection, invoice management, processing of supplier bills, procurement payments, the reconciliation of supplier accounts and bank reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

Accounts receivable:

  • produce monthly fee invoices for clients
  • produce monthly recoverable expense invoices with relevant backup for clients
  • chase for payment when required

Accounts payable:

  • processing and paying supplier bills
  • processing and paying procurement bills
  • liaise with suppliers and employees requiring purchase information

Reconciliations:

  • bank accounts (daily)
  • credit card statements (monthly)
  • client accounts (weekly)
  • multi-currency petty cash (monthly)
  • various others on request

General:

  • daily cashflow management (update cash position, fee invoices and supplier bills into cash flow report)
  • enter purchasing information into clients purchasing schedules
  • filing
  • adhoc projects and reports

Experience: one plus years

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Knowledge and skills:

  • proficient with double entry accounting
  • excellent in Microsoft Excel
  • proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook and Word
  • proficient in QuickBooks (not essential, training can be provided)
  • comfortable using internet banking systems
  • understanding of multicurrency and foreign exchange

Abilities:

  • excellent written and verbal English
  • able to work independently with little supervision
  • diligent with strong attention to detail
  • calm under pressure
  • ability to listen and communicate with all levels of staff
  • organised, efficient and accurate
  • ability to learn new systems
  • able to priorities and meet deadlines
  • be proactive with ideas that benefit MBDS
