MCB Developments has an opportunity for an architect to join its team in London.
MCB Developments are seeking an architect with a minimum of three years’ experience within the residential sector to join the team on a project basis with the possibility of the role becoming permanent.
We create beautiful homes for our clients with good design and functionality at our core.
We are a residential design and build company focused on high end renovations and refurbishments. We are passionate about delivering superior quality projects for our clients based predominately in South, West and southwest London. Most of our projects are single unit renovation/redesign schemes.
We manufacture our own bespoke furniture which is integrated into the majority of our projects.
We are looking for a detail driven and creative architect to join our team on a project/part time basis as our design lead.
The role will include:
- working as design lead for the company
- client facing responsibilities to help clients establish their wants and needs and producing creative options based on client brief at initial concept stage including advising on planning permissions
- transforming concept ideas into fully designed detailed schemes
- submitting planning applications and all relevant documentation and following applications through to permission granted
- producing detailed technical and specification construction issue drawings, M&E plans and quantified finishes schedules
- amendments to design and drawings as the projects progress and changes occur
- design of bespoke fitted furniture including kitchens, wardrobes, vanity units, boot rooms and anything else our clients may desire
- input into interior design
- generating creative design at all stages of projects
- managing information packages with responsibility for end to end delivery and integration into the project
- delivering the highest quality of drawn and written output at all times
- managing and fostering strong, productive relationships with clients, consultants and contractor teams
- working from home but availability to attend site meetings as required
Applicants must be fully conversant with relevant software packages including AutoCAD, the candidate should have a working knowledge of building regulations and construction methods.
Desirable skills and experience:
- ability to undertake measured surveys
- produce detailed project flows
- an interest in interior design
We are looking for the applicant to start immediately on a project/part time basis. If the applicant fits well within the company and has the ability to manage projects through the construction stages there is the possibility for fulltime work. Salary is negotiable based on experience and ability.
