EK Architects is seeking a Part 2 architectural assistant to join its team in Essex, UK.

EK Architects is a small design studio based in Pattiswick, Essex. We are an RIBA accredited practice looking to expand our small team to help us with our increasing workload. The ideal candidate would be RIBA Part 2 with professional working experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a start up practice in its 4th year. The right candidate will work closely alongside the 2 founding directors but will also be given ownership of suitable projects. The practice is currently working on a wide range of projects and at all work stages.

Role and responsibilities:

• producing planning and construction information including technical details
• liaising with site managers and producing information to support construction
• marketing and business expansion
• surveying projects and presenting to clients

Required skills and experience:

• good technical knowledge and understanding of the UK building regulations
• knowledge of Vectorworks preferred but not essential
• works well independently or as part of a larger team
• knowledge of SketchUp preferred but not essential
• residential experience essential
• must be willing to conduct site visits or attend meetings when required
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• full driving license and own transport essential due to rural location
