Full time post: 36.25 hours per week

Salary: £36,382 – £50,295 per annum

The Canterbury School of Architecture and Design at the University for the Creative Arts has a long and established reputation for developing talented and creative design graduates. We are renowned for producing highly individual, skilled and creative practitioners capable of working at the highest levels of the design industry.

We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a lecturer to teach on the BA Product and Furniture Design course, as well as contribute to teaching in the wider Design Programme. These rigorous and professional courses have been developed to give practitioners a deep understanding of the product, furniture, industrial, and interior design processes, to provide the insight and creative experience needed to practice within a competitive environment.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational lecturer who will work as part of a dynamic team in developing and delivering the design courses.

You will have a post-graduate degree in either product, furniture or industrial design or equivalent, relevant professional experience, excellent technical skills, knowledge of contemporary developments within design processes, along with comprehensive skills and knowledge in drawing, model making and construction, CAD and other complimentary computing skills. The post holder should be a ‘hands-on practitioner’ and able to demonstrate excellent evidence of professional practice.

Experience of undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching, good verbal, written and visual communication skills, organisational ability, and personal initiative is required.  You will also contribute to the School of Architecture and Design research culture at the Canterbury campus.
