Senior urban designers

Maccreanor Lavington is seeking senior urban designers to join its offices in London and Rotterdam.
We are architects and urbanists based in London and Rotterdam. Founded in 1992, we have grown to be around 80 people, big enough to tackle projects of any size yet small enough to remain a close knit, focused and friendly team. Our team is made up of exceptionally talented and dedicated people. We have a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw upon as well as a common passion, energy and enthusiasm for our subject.
We are looking for two experienced Senior Urban Designers to join our growing Urban Studio team for both our London and Rotterdam offices. You will work on projects ranging from national-level planning frameworks and major outline planning applications to design guides and characterisation studies. We have major masterplans in the pipeline in need of experienced people willing to lead high-profile projects.
Excellent design and technical skills are essential. Previous UK experience of working in urban design and knowledge of Revit and GIS would be a significant advantage.
Key responsibilities:
- leading masterplanning/urban design/policy guidance projects with supervision
- monitoring project progress, spend, and resources
- coordinating inputs from team members and sub-consultants
- presenting to clients and stakeholders
- coordinating meetings with external parties
Key skills required:
- experience of successfully leading projects
- ability to develop urban designs that respond positively to their current context, whilst acknowledging their future situation
- ability to consider different scales simultaneously – strategic/masterplan/architectural
- graphic awareness and an ability to convey key messages in a digestible form
- ability to prepare engaging documents including both with a graphic focus or text focus
- ability to rapidly synthesise data, planning information, and other documentation
