OMA is seeking a junior PR officer to join its team in New York.

OMA’s communications department is looking for a junior PR officer to join the team in New York starting immediately. The junior PR officer will be an active member of a small but nimble communications and business development team responsible for public relations, marketing and press communication, research, and production of materials to tell the story of OMA New York and its projects both internally and externally.

In this role, you will be working full time, closely with the communications manager, in a vibrant international environment in close connection with the OMA New York Partners.

Due to the current travel restrictions in the US, we unfortunately cannot support visa/work permit applications at this time. Therefore, please only apply if you are authorized to work in the U.S.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • respond to media inquiries and monitor press
  • maintain the public relations archive and compile internal overviews
  • prepare press materials including project narratives, press releases, images, and drawings
  • draft and implement media outreach and pitch strategies
  • manage and implement content on social media channels
  • coordinate lectures for partners and associates
  • assist in research and preparation for lectures and publications
  • actively participate in the diverse communications process and develop new ideas and methods in graphics, imagery, text, bookmaking, and publications

Requirements:

  • degree in architecture/urban planning, design/art history, communications/marketing, or related creative fields
  • work experience in the field of architecture or design and/or within a public relations agency with cultural sector projects
  • fluency in English (Japanese reading and writing is an asset)
  • skilled in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Powerpoint, MS Word, Excel)
  • aptitude in graphic, communication, and organizational skills
  • writing, editing, proof-reading, and storytelling
  • accurate, detail-oriented and hands-on
  • ability to work both independently and within a team
