Jonathan Carey Design is seeking a design team leader to join its team in West Yorkshire, UK.
Design team manager
This role will involve managing a team of 10 designers based in the Yorkshire office, and two based in our Edinburgh office. Working closely with the design office manager and the project director to deliver a wide variety of bespoke design led projects. Working for a leading manufacturer of bespoke furniture solutions for flagship office environments, sports stadiums, courtrooms, high-end hotels, leisure facilities and much more.
Key attributes required are:
- to be self-motivated, driven, ambitious and enthusiastic about design and bespoke joinery
- knowledge of bespoke joinery, technical design, and the manufacturing processes with a good balance of technical and creative thinking
- strong man manager to develop, drive and empower the design team members to improve and progress within the company
- willing to travel, visiting the Scottish office, and possible future additional remote design offices across the UK
- experience in procurement of materials and designing to a fixed budget
- knowledge of Solidworks preferred but not essential
- experience of managing and developing a team with varied personalities and skill sets
- strong verbal and written communication skills to be used within the design team and as a crucial link between all departments
- experience in juggling and planning workload with strong time management skills
- working to and managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced/dynamic working environment
- a desire for continued progression within our growing team
This will be a salaried role, £40k -£45k dependant on experience (other benefits can be discussed) This role is office-based working 40 hours per week, but the sheer nature of the job will require working extended hours when required.
