DLG Architects is looking to recruit a talented and UK-experienced architectural assistant to work in its London studio.

About DLG Architects

Established in 1972, DLG Architects is a collaborative, innovative, award-winning group of architects and designers with studios in London and Leeds. Our London office is located in the creative hub of London Bridge’s Leather Market.

We’re working with exciting clients across a range of sectors and have live projects in the residential, Build-to-Rent and masterplanning, education, workplace, hospitality and cultural sectors. We have projects at all stages on our drawing board, including feasibility studies, competition entries and later-stage projects on site.

We are friendly, motivated studio team of 30 split over our two locations. We work collaboratively between studios on projects and share our knowledge and experience between our teams. We offer a supportive environment in which to progress professionally, gain your Part 3 and will provide the opportunity to gain valuable experience on a large range of exciting projects at various stages across our portfolio. We are committed to quality of outcomes and an enjoyable design process, and believe strongly that the strength of our practice is our team.

Who we’re looking for

We are seeking individuals who have worked in practice before, who are enthusiastic, willing to learn and to contribute to our studio running and environment.

You will have extremely strong skills in presentation, design and modelling using a range of programmes and media. You’ll have an understanding of the design process, building regulations and planning, and the confidence to work independently and as part of a team. You’ll have an excellent approach to your own time management, and how this relates to a project’s programme.

You’ll be confident in working in an agile manner from project to project and committed to developing and maintaining a high-quality outputs with guidance from the partners and architectural team.

The following skills are required:

  • experienced with InDesign, to assist in the preparation of presentations and documents (we would like to see examples of this within your application)
  • confident user of 2D CAD software
  • experienced user of Revit
  • experienced user of SketchUp
  • (highly advantageous) experience with Enscape or another high-quality visualisation programme
  • excellent communication skills
  • a friendly, committed and enthusiastic attitude
