To strengthen our operations and management team, we are on the lookout for an interior design manager.
As manager – interior design you’ll be responsible for the operational management of our talented interior design team on various projects through all design stages, from inception to completion. In this versatile role you are the facilitator of the team, where you pro-actively support them in managing their deliverables and workflows. You have experience in managing clients and external parties while keeping a clear overview of the project management status of all clients and projects.
Next to your proven track record of excellent project management, you’re familiar with the complete HR cycle from hiring new team members to evaluations and appraisals to guiding your team’s career development. Your experience with interior design processes and your natural way of motivating and stimulating teams will help you bring our amazing projects and team members to the next level. This shines through in how you the foster team spirit, empower your team members to take ownership, delegate responsibilities and provide frequent feedback.
Additionally, you will assist with new business opportunities by delivering input for the project planning of new projects, with a clear understanding of capacity, resources and budgets in interior design.
Our wishes:
- minimum ten years’ experience in a design management position
- a proven track record in the management of processes, people and profitability is key
- professional degree in architecture bachelors, masters or equivalent, registered in country of education with experience working in an international environment as an interior designer (focus on hospitality, residential and retail)
- strong experience in managing client and third party relationships whilst safeguarding timelines, milestones, sign off
- excellent client and people management skills in order to successfully draft and implement change orders where necessary
- experience managing team members’ career path trajectories and guiding personal and professional development is essential
- excellent competencies in project planning: allocating resources, identifying key milestones, setting and reaching deadlines to ensure project profitability
- ability to work on several projects simultaneously and being able to thrive in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment is required
- self-motivated, enthusiastic and comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team environment
- energetic, pro-active and driven with a good sense of ownership
- excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written – Dutch or other languages are a plus
- living in or near Amsterdam, or willing to relocate
- European Union passport or valid Dutch work visa required (we do not sponsor candidates)
