BIM technician

Gillespies are seeking a BIM technician to join its team in London.
Gillespies are looking for an experienced BIM technician with proficiency in Lumion, Rhino, Revit and Adobe suite, to join our creative and friendly team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic 3D modeller, with strong technical skills and a graphical flair, to join a multi-award winning landscape architectural and urban design firm, based in London.
The ideal candidate will be highly experienced in the preparation of 3D visualisations using Rhino software for technical stages of design documentation and must demonstrate strong skills in cross-disciplinary coordination, team leadership and a good understanding of Revit. Knowledge of working within a BIM environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
A background or experience in landscape or architecture would be of great advantage.
Role description:
- use 3D landscape visualisation and modelling techniques to bring landscape designs to life through rendered images, perspectives and computer-generated imagery
- produce accurate Revit models with reliable BIM data according to the relevant BIM documentation (EIR/BEP), working closely with other members of the BIM team, landscape architects and urban designers
- manage large Revit models integrating multiple architecture, structures, MEP and infrastructures models, identifying clashes and design concerns
- work collaboratively with the project design team in various projects improving the workflow between AutoCAD, Revit and other design packages
- support the advancement of our capabilities in clash detection, data management and maintaining project templates and standards
Skills and experience required:
- in-depth working knowledge of REVIT and BIM enabling applications
- experience with BIM Level 2 projects
- an eye for architectural representation and ability to produce rendered -imagery to communicate design intent to clients
- experience in architectural visualisation
- experience of working in a design practice
- excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- ability to work without supervision and proactively manage time and work commitments
- ability to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks
- strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels with credibility and confidence
- able to build positive working relationships across the practice as well as with external stakeholders
- good problem solver
- excellent planning and organisation skills
- ability to work well under pressure and prioritise multiple requests and tasks
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- ability to make sound decisions and escalate any issues to the management if needed
- good attention to detail
Software skills required: Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe suite, Revit (and associated tools), Lumion, Rhino, SketchUp.
