Junior interior designer
at Spacelab
Spacelab is hiring a junior interior designer to join its studio in London.
Spacelab is an exploratory architectural design studio. We are looking for a highly creative interior design/interior architect assistant with one+ years’ experience to join us on a full-time permanent basis to work on a range of prestigious and exciting projects.
Key responsibilities:
- assist on projects of varying sizes from concept to completion
- attend presentations and workshops with clients to help develop and evolve project brief
- assist in the collection and preparation of the project briefing documents
- provide support in developing and implementing interior design concepts
- assist with design and production information
- produce presentation finishes boards
- assist with the preparation of tender presentation material
- research products and material specifications and investigate suitability for use and maintenance
- attending site meetings and liaising with consultants
- work within a team, completing tasks and providing support to directors, associates, senior designers and architects and other members of the team
Experience and skills:
- a degree in interior design or interior architecture with one+ years’ professional experience
- good time-management skills to meet deadlines
- knowledge of finishes, materials, packages and details
- knowledge of FF&E selection, coordination and scheduling
- creative problem solving
- confident to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- excellent communication and presentation skills
- fluent in English, verbal and written
- proficient using Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
- Revit and Vectorworks experience advantageous
- a working knowledge of UK building systems, regulations and construction methods
