About us
Sogni di Cristallo is an Italian leading agency of light fitting designers, manufacturer and glass master makers based in Venice, Italy. SDC guarantees a formidable connection between the master glassmakers of Venice and the designers from around the world: we work with architects, interior designers, private clients to deliver important B2B contract projects for commercial buildings, restaurants, hotels and custom made projects worldwide. SDC is expanding its business and it’s now opening a company branch in London.
Role
SDC is looking for a part time of full time junior product designer to work on a diverse range of projects in UK and USA.
You’ll be involved in the early concept stages of a brief, right through to delivery of detailed designs, specifications, prototypes and products.
You’ll be working within our Italian and UK based team and will be collaborating with clients from all over the world.
Responsibilities:
- preparing 3D models and shop drawings for client approval and preparing technical drawings
- supplying documentation and detailed files for mock up production
- creating production and assembly instructions drawings
Requirements:
- proven work or study experience as a Product Designer or similar
- preferably English/Italian speaker
- excellent communication skills
- fluent with 2D and 3D CAD design tools – AutoCAD or Rhino and experience preferred
- advanced knowledge of Excel (to generate project trackers) and Adobe (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
- understanding of manufacturing methods, processes, materials
- passionate about solving problems and identifying opportunities to make things better for people
- flexible working and happy to work collaboratively within a team remotely and take sole ownership of a given task to drive projects forward
- excellent organisational and time management abilities
- London based – our office is based in Chelsea
