Business development manager

OMA is looking for an experienced business development manager to join its office based in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The OMA business development – BD team in Rotterdam is responsible for actively developing, acquiring and assessing potential projects, conducting market research and following up on market opportunities worldwide. The BD team has an immediate need for a business development manager.

Responsibilities:

  • you will support the BD team in proactively researching and developing new business opportunities for the office
  • you will work with the OMA team leaders and business development team on the management of potential new projects and opportunities e.g. competition, RFP, direct assignements
  • you will manage and asses requests for proposals related the scope and external partner selection and management
  • you will support in tender assessment and management
  • you will report on and maintain records of business development activities and support the BD team in reporting on acquisitions in process

Requirements:

  • MA/BA degree in architecture, candidates with a legal, business or accounting background with an affinity for architecture will also be considered
  • fluency in English. Full professional proficiency in another European language, such as Dutch, German and French, would be beneficial
  • five plus years professional experience in acquisition/ market research required, preferably in the architecture, real estate or development fields
  • experience in responding to RFI, RFP, PQQ and direct assignment proposals
  • demonstrated layout and production skills – please include in portfolio
  • knowledge of HTML, Flash, Dreamweaver and Fireworks a plus
  • highly developed skills in communication with internal departments, external consultants and clients
  • ability to develop unconventional commercial solutions for unique creative opportunitiesexperience managing multiple assignments/ deadlines simultaneously
  • experience managing multiple assignments/ deadlines simultaneously
  • interest in and affinity for market research, architecture and art
  • disciplined, pro-active and confident in a complex, international environment
  • understanding of architecture and master planning and/ or the art & design world is recommended
  • willing to travel for work
  • valid European work permit is preferred
