London, UK
Animation artist
at Make

Make is hiring an animation artist to join its team in London.

Make is a different kind of architecture practice. Founded by Ken Shuttleworth in 2004, we’re an employee-owned firm pursuing a democratic design process that values everyone’s input. The Make studios are filled with incredibly talented people from around the world, from architects to IT professionals. Everyone who works here is great at what they do and does it with passion.

We’re an equal opportunities employer committed to creating an open and egalitarian working environment. We’ve been listed in the Sunday Times Best Small Companies to Work For ranking on multiple occasions and were named the AJ100 Employer of the Year (2016).

We are looking for a highly creative and motivated animation artist to join our visual communications team. The role will focus on creating realistic digital visuals of both interior and exterior architectural spaces for our exciting projects and competitions.

The role will use cinematography to capture animation and movement in scenes, bringing them to life to tell a story of what a space can be used for, showing off its potential. The use of sketch storyboards for film will be a key element in the production.

The ability to take a design at different stages of the design process – from concept to final – to film, using different styles of output to convey the idea, is essential. A knowledge of film, good understanding of different styles of cinematography, and an eye for shot composition and lighting are key to success in this role.

Experience in general 3D modelling to carry out modelling/texturing, as well as familiarity with nonlinear editing software like Premiere and After Effects to edit shots and add sounds and music to create a coherent, appealing sequence, is essential.

Key attributes:

  • excellent attention to detail
  • keen eye for visual storytelling
