Brewer Smith Brewer Group (BSBG) currently has an exciting opportunity for a project architect to join its London studio.

The role
As a project architect, you will run projects under the supervision of the lead or senior architect, enforcing the implementation of operational standards and ensuring the architects under your direction understand and adhere to these standards.
Key responsibilities/requirements/experience:
- assist the lead architect in preparation of schematic design and design development drawings
- assist the lead architect in schematic code conformance
- create and manage the record copy of the project drawings in an A3 vertical folder with respective issue register indicating the purpose of submission
- unsure every issue of drawings or submissions are correct and collated in order
- ensure all local authority submissions are monitored to obtain approval in for both BSBG and our sub-consultants submissions at the earliest
- ensure the operational standards are understood and maintained by architects within your design team
- ensure all designs are in accordance with the relevant standards and approved relevant local authority regulations
- ensure agreed packages of CAD documentation are completed within agreed deadlines
- prepare the local authority submissions in accordance with the relevant local authority requirements
- work closely and motivate the project team in order to have a pleasant and productive working relation
- assist the lead architect in assigning resources for construction documentation production
- prepare a schedule of man hours indicating the number of hours required to complete a drawing package
- ensure all drawings are printed and back from the copier ahead of time before the time of submission
Key skills and experience:
- ARB registered with a minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience working on UK residential and mixed-use projects
- demonstrate excellent design and presentation skills
- experience in producing and maintaining design programmes, schedules, and action lists
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- sound knowledge of UK building regulations, current and emerging planning policy
- experience working with external delivery architects would be an advantage
Job position
This is a full-time position, based in our London studio located in Holborn. All candidates should be eligible to work in the UK.
