Robert Kime is seeking a product developer for 12 month maternity cover to join its team in Marlborough or London, UK.

Robert Kime is looking to hire maternity cover for our product development role. The role can be based full-time in Marlborough, or alternatively, in London, with twice-weekly trips to our Marlborough Head Office.

General responsibilities:

• management and development of products for the Robert Kime Collection. This consists of fabrics, wallpapers, furniture, lighting and accessories
• budget and forecast developments for products
• management with manufacturers, including but not limited to sustainability aspects, price negotiations, and sourcing new suppliers when required
• commercialisation of products, including but not limited to, reviewing costs, compiling all product info, legislation and certification
• creation of product; working with Robert and his team to design and develop products, trialing and testing, and management on creation timelines
• working closely with our product managers to ensure current collection products maintain the expected quality
• manage and minimise product issues and/or production issues
• maintain an up-to-date library for original documents, trials, and prototypes which will continually be used as reference
• maintain and create certification and legislation documents

Skills required:

• relevant experience in textile design and preferably product design, including lighting and furniture
• proficient in colour theory and have good knowledge of interior design
• experience in dealing with suppliers and manufacturers
• proficient in Apple and Microsoft programmes
• proficient in Adobe design programmes (Photoshop and InDesign)
• excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• good time management and organisation skills
